HOW SAFE IS MICROSUCTION?

Microsuction is considered to be the safest technique for removing ear wax when performed by trained professionals.

IS MICROSUCTION A NEW PROCEDURE?

No, microsuction has been around for many years being performed in ENT Out Patient Departments.

 

HOW LONG WILL THE TREATMENT TAKE?

This will vary depending on the amount of wax and how impacted it is. For some, the treatment takes just a few minutes but if the wax is very hard the treatment may take a little longer. In most cases treatment is completed in one 20 to 30 minute session.

DO I NEED TO SOFTEN THE WAX BEFORE MY VISIT?

Yes we advise using an ear spray to soften the wax before your appointment.

As part of the treatment price an ear spray is made available to you at no extra charge.

WHO WILL PERFORM THE PROCEDURE?

A fully insured specialist, trained by a doctor of audiology.

WHERE IS THE TREATMENT DONE?

All appointment are in a purpose built clinic and use all the latest equipment.

Either sanitised or single use products.

I HAVE OTHER ISSUES WITH MY EARS,

CAN I STILL HAVE MICROSUCTION?

Yes, for many ear conditions microsuction is the only technique that should be performed for removing wax. If you are experiencing or have experiencing hearing loss, tinnitus, infections, discharge from the ear or foreign body in the ear, microsuction is the safest procedure for you.

HOW MUCH WILL THE TREATMENT COST?

After an initial consultation and examination to both ears.

Microsuction treatment will be performed to remove any ear wax as required.

Only one appointment is usually needed and the cost of this service in clinic is £50.00.

This does include a follow up appointment if required.

The clinic is wheelchair friendly. 

Home visits are available and great care is taken to meet any special requirements

that the patient may have. Home visits start from £70.00
